Donovan’s Orders

Audio Post-Production

An Independent, small-production short film about two hit-men who must carry out a job for their ruthless boss whilst one of the hit-men is in the midst of a personal moral crisis.

This was the first film project I professionally worked on after college and one I am very proud of. My role in the production of this film was to design and edit the; dialogue, ambience and sound effects. The music was created by a composer from which I laid onto the onto the film and mixed with the other audio elements.

Using the iZotope RX9 plugins, I was able to technically design the dialogue perfectly to the curated seaside ambience. The effective use of automation is heard throughout the film to add depth and to help the audio sit more naturally. Automation can be heard from the reverb plugins changing depending on whether said character is indoors or outdoors to the EQ’s slowly sweeping from a character being out of it on screen.
