This tune was performed by multi-intrumentalist Tadhg Mulligan and recorded by myself in Ailfionn Recording Studios, Drumcondra. Taking inspiration from old Planxty tracks in terms of frequency and panning balance, I feel this track retains a lot of that energy that is created in an Irish trad session.
Tadhg being a very talented multi-instrumentalist played all instruments on this track including; fiddle, viola, bouzouki and bodhrán and although the track felt like there was room for more instrumentation, we kept it simple and full sounding.
During the recording process, I wanted to capture as much natural reverb as possible as to not disturb the traditional nature of the music with reverb plugins. Leaving hallways open with a large diaphragm condenser set up, helped capture as much natural reverb as possible.
